First, you should know I am 25. Some 25 year-olds are partying at grad school, some are barely making it in the economy. I can tell you now, I am not your average 25 year old. And I will note, I know there are people my age that are far more advanced in life than me, and I think that’s great. Something to challenge me. I already own my own 3bed/3bath house, LOVE my family, have friends that are there for me through thick and thin – to say it bluntly, LIFE IS GOOD!

I’m originally from Tucson, AZ. I went to St. Gregory College Prep school from 6-12th grade (minus my freshman year at a public school – experiment gone wrong – ha). Then I went to college at the University of Arizona for Graphic Design and Business.

High school was torture for me (aren’t we all feeling a little like that?) – so I’m very happy to get out of that situation. No, I didn’t do anything really bad to get tortured – I just didn’t fit in. I tell you that because when I turned 22, I wrote a 200 page book about my life called “What The Heart Wants: A Teen’s Journey From Lost To Found”. It was the ride of my life writing that book. I’ll come back to that in future posts…

In 2003 I started a job selling knives. Yes, knives. Some of you may have heard of it – Cutco Cutlery. If not, it really is great stuff! No, that wasn’t my ideal dream job but I needed money because I didn’t want my parents to support me. I’ve always been the “I can do it” type. After my first week selling knives, I was well on my way, and loved every minute of it. I finished the #2 sales rep in my office that summer, got promoted to management – and that’s where the real fun began.

Fast forward to August 2006 – I had written a 90 minute recruiting interview that many offices were following, I was the top recruiter and trainer in 5 states, I sold about $85,000 in personal sales, interviewed thousands of college students, managed up to 100 people at any given time, and trained the newbie managers on how to be great (3 states worth of candidates). Yep – at 24 years old. What a blast!!

But I got bored. I stopped learning on a daily basis and I can’t ever stop growing and climbing to the top – I love it too much. So I got a 10 hour a week assistant job while attempting to finish my book. I was mentored and learned a LOT about Internet marketing, building websites, driving traffic, etc. We ran 2 “Money and marketing” conferences in Denver in the past year for about 100-200 people, called The Capital Factor. That was 1 of about 6 projects I had during that year.

Once I had out-grown that position, it really was amazing how things just “fell into place” for me. Call it the Universe’s help, call it luck, or call it hard-work-paying-off. I now have 2 positions (one very part-time, and one more full-time — but I like them both so I make it work), and they both started in the late fall of last year – yes, even with the economy in a downward spiral.

Sidebar – Let that be inspiration to all of you out there who are still desperately seeking a job. There IS work out there. It is hard to find maybe, but it IS out there.

Now I am working as Author Liaison for a woman named Ruby Yeh in California. She is in the eBook industry (yay – it’s about time I get off my butt and start doing something in this field) and is doing a series of compilation books.

Last, and most importantly to me, I am working with a local web programmer/Internet Marketer (Marty Dickinson) and helping his company (Here Next Year) as the project manager. So I help manage his clients and projects and also try to help automate our sales and execution process so we can double or triple the amount of clients we are currently getting – and we are doing JUST FINE – let me tell ya!

I love this type of work though!! I am very organized, love people, and thrive when I have a challenge ahead of me. And let me tell you, learning html code IS A CHALLENGE! Ha.

So that’s me! Well, the bio part. There is so much I want to share with the world and that is what this blog is all about. Some days I will give Internet Marketing tips, sometimes I will talk about a life lesson I just learned. It is my hope that you get a nugget out of every post you read. I will do the work on this end to make that more of a realistic goal.
