Jodi Torpey, my #1 HereNextYear client and friend, has been an absolute joy to work with over the past year or more. Jodi is one of those people that works with passion, truly wants to make an impact in the world, and works hard every day to make that happen. With each conversation we have she inspires me. Today, I wanted to write a blog post all about her so you can get touched by her light too.
Jodi started a “Gardening in the West” blog over a year ago, www.WesternGardeners.com, and religiously writes new posts throughout each week.
What does she write about?
- Plant a Row for the Hungry Gardening Event
- Vegetable Gardening Made Easy
- Crocus Leaves are My Gardening Signal
- Gifts from the Garden Spice Up Holidays
- Cold Climate Survival Tips for Gardeners
- When Life Hands You Tomatoes, Make Sauce
- Lochness Cucumber wins Weird Veggie Award
Jodi Torpey has some very valuable books out on the market now including:
- “The Colorado Gardener’s Companion: An Insider’s Guide to Gardening in the Centennial State“,
- “Get Growing Guide to Tomatoes“,
- “17 Ways to Get your Garden Growing…even if it’s baking in the Western Sun”,
- and even a free ebook titled, “101 Ways to Save Water & $$ in the Landscape“.
You can read more about these awesome guides at the
Western Gardener’s Store.
Jodi’s current focus is on a program called “Plant a Row” for the hungry. This is
where gardeners (professional or not) donate food to help feed the hungry in communities across the nation. This is a great program to work with and truly makes a difference. To find out more about how you can get involved, click here »
As you can tell, I’m a big Jodi Torpey fan. I get a kick out of helping hard-working individuals get recognized. There are men and women all over who show up every day and continue to give, give, give. They don’t do it for the recognition (although, come on, that’s nice!), they just do it to help people. Jodi is one of those people that deserves a round of applause to keep doing what’s she doing.
Check out her blog, sign up for list (you won’t regret it – she gives out great information and doesn’t send too much too soon like some), and join the conversation on her site. I think you’ll find the same inspiration I did.
