Hyde On Health Care Hits a Home Run
Stephen Hyde is a very dedicated health care reform analyst who I had the pleasure of meeting several weeks ago in a meeting with his lovely wife Loren George. I would have to say one of my favorite parts of what I do is learning about so many different industries. I have built web sites for clients who are passionate about gardening, adult care communities, corporate training, spiritual wisdom, real estate, book authors, and so much more. But this was my first site for a health care expert who plans to “clear up some popular misconceptions about how our health care system really works (and why it doesn’t) and how we can fix it.”
The site is www.HydeOnHealthCare.com. Stephen Hyde has authored 2 books. The first (to be released in a matter of days) is a book called, “Cured! The Insider’s Handbook for Health Care Reform“.
“I’ve been pondering how to fix the health care system for more than twenty years, yet I kept coming back to the central question: If we can all get high-quality and affordable food, clothing, housing, and transportation from lightly-regulated markets, why can’t we all do the same thing for our equally necessary medical care? After all, they’re all examples of what economists call “economic goods” that are subject to the fundamental rules of supply and demand. After years of research and thought, I realized that there is a basic market failure at the root of my answer, and that it’s a problem that we can solve by replacing the current plethora of government health care regulations and programs with three basic reforms of health insurance, taxes, and social safety nets. That epiphany came in late 2007 and that’s when I began to write Cured! The Insider’s Handbook for Health Care Reform.”
Hyde’s second book is titled “Prescription Drugs for Half Price or Less”
“If you want to save up to 50, 70, even 90% on your prescription drug costs, this is the book you need. Stephen S. S. Hyde, founder of Hyde Rx Services Corporation, is the leading authority on low-cost prescription drug benefits, and now he’s offering individual consumers the expertise he provides to America’s employers and health plans. With the simple, cost-saving techniques outlined in this revolutionary book, you can save literally hundreds, even thousands of dollars on your family’s prescription medications. With an appendix of directories, pharmacies, and websites to get you started, this book will pay for itself with your very first prescription!”
Hyde already has several fascinating blog posts written on his site. Upon reading them, it really made me step back and think about a lot of things. I think you should definitely go take a peak at this site. Hyde also mentions he is available for hire to speak or willing to participate in radio or TV interviews.
I’ll leave you with a very interesting concept Hyde wrote about in one of his blog posts titled, Ending the Diabetes Epidemic with a BAGLE.
He says “BAGLE is my acronym for a health insurance pricing system that would set insurance premiums according to each individual’s Behavior, Age, Gender, Location, and Employment/Extracurricular characteristics—but not medical condition or genetic makeup.”
What do you think about this concept? Realistic? Good Idea? Not a good idea?
I look forward to hearing from you…
