				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In this day and age, there are a variety of ways to interact with consumers.  Whether it be through traditional marketing such as newspapers, magazines, and television; or through more current online formats such as websites, blogs, webinars, online forums, or social media, the list is endless and new opportunities arise every year.</p>
<p>Although these are all proven engagement methods, we want to take a look at one of the most effective engagement tools available and that is <b>Mobile Marketing</b>.  <span style="color: #0099cf;"><b>91%</b></span> of adults keep their phone within arm&#8217;s reach 24/7.  Think of the convenience.  People can hardly go an hour without looking at their phone and the ability to literally put your message in the palm of a consumer&#8217;s hand is now a reality.  Below you will find 4 unique ways consumers interact and engage using mobile, so you can determine where to start in your own business:</p>
<p><b>1.  SMS Messages.</b>  Texting is simple, instant and effective and your consumers do it all the time.  Take into account that it takes 90 minutes for the average person to respond to an email; <b>whereas</b> <b>it takes 90 <span style="text-decoration: underline;">seconds</span> for the average person to respond to a text message</b>.  When people hear their text ringtone, they can&#8217;t help but look at it, as our curiousity gets the better of us.</p>
<p><span style="color: #0099cf;"><b><i>How consumers engage using SMS:</i></b></span><br />
Through an <a href="http://www.gomobilemediamarketing.com/services/text-message-marketing/">SMS platform</a>, the receiver (aka consumer), would receive a message that causes them to take action.  Send them a reminder that their appointment is tomorrow, an upcoming event registration deadline, enter to win, ask consumers to reply to your text and the first 5 receive a special offer, and time sensitive coupons</p>
<p><b>2.  Mobile Coupons.</b>  A mobile coupon is an electronic ticket that is delivered by a mobile device that can be exchanged for a discount or rebate when purchasing a product or service.   Mobile coupons delivered by text message or a QR Code scan drive traffic to stores, events, attractions, and services; adds value to a purchase; directs a discount to the consumer; and leverages distribution.  According to Juniper Research, mobile coupons are expected to increase from $5.4 billion in 2012 to more than $43 billion by 2016.</p>

Smartphones let users access deals on the go and have the capability to serve coupons that are highly relevant based on location, behavior, and timeliness.</p>
<p><b>3.  QR Codes.</b>  A QR Code is a 2-Dimensional matrix barcode.  QR codes are read by software which scans them and then links to the information they contain.  They are designed to allow content to be decoded at high speed providing desired information and content.  QR Codes are a convenient way to deliver content to your customers and potential clients.  QR Codes placed within print material allows you to bridge offline marketing with online marketing and turns your print material into an interactive experience.</p>

QR Codes are unique and quite often get scanned simply because people are curious as to what information is contained within all of those squiggly lines and squares.  Consumers scan QR Codes to be directed to a mobile website, video, survey, coupon, business card, landing page, contest, or product/service.  All very important ways to drive engagement with those interested in your business.</p>
<p><b>4.  Mobile Apps.</b>  Apps are powerful and people love apps, no matter their age.  In fact, it is estimated that <span style="color: #0099cf;"><b>64%</b></span> of mobile phone time is spent on apps.  If you are an active smartphone user, you can definitely relate.  Mobile is everywhere, and a mobile apps allows for branding, GPS coupons for checking in, Push Notifications for offers, promotions, and events and is viral allowing for sharing on Social Media.</p>

<h3>Supercharge Your Website with Blogging</h3>
<p>Blogging is the heart and blood of your website. It&#8217;s what keeps your business flowing and thriving.</p>
<p>Each time you publish a blog post, you prove to Google that you are here to educate and inspire your following on a regular basis. <strong>Google will reward your efforts</strong> by ranking you higher in its search engine for the topics you write about. The more consistently you blog over a longer period of time, the better you continue to get rewarded. It is CRAZY how much traffic I get to my website by writing just one post per week.</p>
<p>I didn&#8217;t start with just one a week though. In the beginning, I wrote 2, 3&#8230;even 4 a week. I had heard that <strong>something magical happens when a blog achieves 100 posts</strong>. I wanted to hit that goal ASAP. I hit it, and I saw a lot more traffic flow in. I built the traffic up to 10,000 page views per month and scaled back to once a week to focus on product development and scaling my business. It&#8217;s now a well-oiled machine.</p>
<p>As Google ranks you higher, something very cool happens. <strong>Sites with huge followings find and SHARE your posts!</strong> The editor in chief of Slate magazine found one of my posts and linked to it from within his blog post. <strong>I got 1,000 new visitors to my website overnight! </strong></p>
<p>As you continue to publish great content, people share your blog posts on their sites or -even better - social media. If you think a blog post rocks, you&#8217;d share it on Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn. Everyone in your network would then see that post, read it, opt-in to that website, buy products and the cycle continues. <strong>People advertise you for FREE because your content rocks!</strong></p>
<h3>You Can&#8217;t Afford NOT to Get Serious About Blogging!</h3>
<p><strong>But, I don&#8217;t have time!</strong> With all due respect, I call BS. You can <em>make time</em> for a task this critical to your online success. If you want the chance to get 1,000 new visitors to your website overnight, or get 10,000+ page views each month, or triple your opt-in list, or, or&#8230; you get the point. Blogging is THE answer.</p>
<p><strong>Where to Start?</strong> Take 15-20 minutes and sit down with a blank sheet of paper. Write one or two words at the top which encompass the main, overall topic or theme for your business. For example, we can use &#8220;Dog Care.&#8221;  This will become the main theme for your blog. Beneath that heading, write as many sub-topics as you can think of such as: dog food brands, flea treatment, training tactics, dog toys, etc.</p>
<p>Keep going until you literally can&#8217;t think of anything else. If you can&#8217;t get to 50, type your top keyword phrase into Google and see what comes up to help thought-jog you. The reason behind this exercise is to have a reference list each time you sit down to write a blog post. No more writer&#8217;s block, and hopefully this will provide some motivation to keep blogging.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t need to write posts nearly as long as this one. This one is long because I have a point to prove. <img src='http://insightfuldevelopment.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':P' class='wp-smiley' />  Yours can be 400-500 words. Write a blog post once a week &#8211; minimum. When you&#8217;ve published the post, share it on your social networks and encourage people to read and share your blog post. Tell them WHY they should read your post &#8211; give them a reason, give them the benefit.</p>
<p><strong>At the end of the day, if you share good, valuable how-to or inspirational content, your results will be incredible!</strong></p>

<h3>A Secret Weapon That Could Blow the Roof Off Your Website</h3>
<p>It&#8217;s obvious now that the more you blog, the faster you will see massive results. It&#8217;s a numbers game.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ve been running &#8220;<strong>guest blogging</strong>&#8221; programs behind the curtain for some pretty big websites over the past couple of years.</p>
<p>We get started with a new client and structure a custom guest blogging program for their website. We work with the client to gather several writers who are committed to submitting at least one blog post per month. We then take all of the leg work off the client and completely manage their blog and the 10-15 authors we have on board. This includes managing the editorial calendar, managing the authors, scheduling, search engine optimization, blog post prep work and more.</p>
<p>I tell you this because <strong>I have seen first hand how drastically guest blogging programs can increase traffic to a website</strong>.</p>

<li>Create email templates for: inviting a writer to join your blog, an acceptance email, a getting started email, an email to let them know the date for which their blog post has been scheduled, an email letting the writer know that their post has been scheduled and asking them to share the post on their social media and a reminder email which goes out once a month reminding writers to upload their articles by the 1st of the month.</li>
<li>Generate WordPress user accounts for each guest author, and send them their login information with the Guidelines.</li>
</ul>

<li>You now have 10-15 people writing good, valuable how-to or inspirational content each month.</li>
<li>These writers will be sharing their articles ALL OVER social media and in their newsletters.</li>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s <strong>not </strong> just about the number of followers you have on Facebook or Twitter that matters. This is a HUGE misconception people have about social media. It is WAY more about the connection you have with your following, and their loyalty, than the number.</p>
<p>My following is SUPER loyal for example, because they see how I pour myself into my work and truly want to help them. </p>
<p>One way I suggest improving the quality of your social media engagement, and therefore your following&#8217;s social media experience, is to <strong>study what others are doing</strong>.</p>
<p>Spend 30-60 minutes each month on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn researching companies and individuals related to your industry. You may want to do a quick Google search if you do not know who your competitors are. For example, search &#8220;dog trainers.&#8221;</p>
<p>As you locate your competitors, thoroughly scan their Facebook, Twitter LinkedIn pages to evaluate what they are doing. </p>
<p><strong>You are looking for&#8230;</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> the number of friends they have </li>
<li>what kind of content they post, </li>
<li>how frequently they are making posts, </li>
<li>are their friends or followers posting on their wall, </li>
<li>are they generating a lot of comments, </li>
<li>do they offer different media posts, </li>
<li>are they self-promoting their products and services and how often / how do they do it, </li>
<li>what is the mood like on their page, etc.</li>
</ul>
<p>It will become obvious to you if this competitor has 30 friends and never posts, then they are not a model to follow.  But if you find a competitor that has 1,500 friends, has a lot of activity on their page and is branding themselves well, then they are someone to study and learn from.</p>
<p>During your research be sure to take out a piece of paper and jot down ideas of what you want to improve about your own Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc pages.</p>
<p>Social media is not a one-way street of you promoting yourself. I invite you to spend the time and do this research to <strong>improve your social media efforts</strong>. You&#8217;ll be shocked at how much better your results will get with a little extra care in this department.</p>

I am constantly searching for great tools I can implement to make my life easier online. <p><strong>Tool #1: Boomerang for Gmail</strong></p>
<p>I LOVE this email tool! Boomerang allows you to schedule email replies for a future date and time. It also allows you to keep your Inbox manageable by scheduling an email to disappear and come back to me at a later date and time. For example, if an email doesn&#8217;t need a reply for a week, I don&#8217;t want it clogging my Inbox! I just schedule it to be resent back to me in a week and reply at that time. <p><strong>Tool #2: Facebook Scheduler</strong></p>
<p>Similar to Hootsuite or Buffer, Facebook has its own scheduling tool. I love using it because there is no mention of &#8220;posted by ____(buffer, for example),&#8221; which has lowered my results of Likes and Shares. Write a week&#8217;s worth of Facebook posts in advance and now you will keep up with your Facebook rockstar status without being glued to your desk. <p><strong>Tool #3: Google Keyword Tool</strong></p>
<p>Unsure of what your audience wants to learn about? This tool allows you to type in general industry keywords such as &#8220;children&#8217;s books,&#8221; &#8220;music theory,&#8221; &#8220;baseball,&#8221; and Google will populate current related searches as well as rank them by popularity. This data will not only show you the top topics people are searching for but this in turn gives you all sorts of writing material you may not have thought of otherwise. <p><strong>Tool #4: Evernote</strong></p>
<p>As we search online or just sit with our computers to &#8220;get creative&#8221; and stay productive, we come across hundreds of ideas, cool websites and pieces of content. Generally, we lose most of it because we don&#8217;t have a way to quickly and easily record it all. Evernote is the tool to store all of this data for you, organize it and access it anytime, anywhere. (tool: <a href="http://www.evernote.com/" target="_blank">www.evernote.com</a>)</p>
<p><strong>Tool #5: Carbonite</strong></p>
<p>This is a must-have, critical tool! Carbonite is an online computer backup system. What would it feel like to have your computer crash and all of your files no longer existed? This happens ALL the time. Simply signup with Carbonite and it will backup all of your computer files each day. It&#8217;s very easy to use and restore your files. 				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Friday, many people are fried from the busy work week or plan an early exit. Hey man, This happens to me too so no judgement!</p>
<p>However, Friday is also the day that I&#8217;ve knocked out most of my products or written most of my blog posts for the week ahead.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s a little more quiet time and with three or four dedicated hours in the afternoon you could tooootally write that eBook you&#8217;ve been meaning to write but never seem to have the time for (poke). You could write or video multiple blog posts and then you&#8217;d have one less thing to think about.</p>
<p>Take advantage of pockets of down time during the work week &#8212;> that&#8217;s how the mentors you look up to do it.</p>

You must have a <strong><a href="http://insightfuldevelopment.com/internet-marketing-services-amber-ludwig/" title="Learn How NGNG can Help You Create a Focused Plan Toward Six-Figure Success!">strategy and a focused action plan</a></strong> to reach a global audience that resonates with your message and wants to follow you long-term.</p>
<p>Today I am going to share 5 focus areas that I encourage you to always pay attention to so you can build your business toward <strong>6-figure success</strong>. Your success online really starts with your website, but also depends on your results in a few other areas which I explain below.</p>
<p>When people get started, they don&#8217;t have all the money in the world to <a href="http://insightfuldevelopment.com/shop/website-design-development-services/" title="WordPress Website Design &#038; Development Services">invest into a great website</a>. Most understand the importance of a website, but they don&#8217;t know how critical it is to have it setup the right way.</p>
<p>An average beautiful and functional website will cost $3,000-5,000 (pending if you get a shopping cart with it). New entrepreneurs don&#8217;t want to make larger investments to start so they get a website for $800-1,500 and you get what you pay for. It doesn&#8217;t showcase your brand well, your message won&#8217;t be clear or memorable most likely, you won&#8217;t see many results with it, and generally, you&#8217;ll need to go start over with someone who costs more and is more experienced anyway. I&#8217;d say 65% of my clients come from an experience like this. </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve played an integral role in building over 150 website, and in that time, <strong>I developed a 5-point checklist</strong> I take my client strategy sessions through to make sure we&#8217;ve included everything their website needs to be successful for their business. </p>
<p>So as I go through this 5-point checklist, take note of what you may need to look at to give your website a facelift or you may decide you want to go through a rebranding process altogether. </p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Brand</strong> &#8211; What is your focus and message? Does your tagline help you or hurt you? Will you be memorable? Typically if you use a pre-made theme (because it&#8217;s less expensive than a custom design) you won&#8217;t have a brand that stands apart so you&#8217;ll get lost on the hundreds of millions of other websites online. If you&#8217;re serious about your business, you&#8217;ll need to invest in a beautiful and professional custom website design so you stand out above everyone else in your industry. You have to look the part.</li>
<li><strong>Content and Messaging</strong> &#8211; It must be clear, what you do. When a new website visitor comes to your site, you have 3-5 seconds to make an impression on a visitor. First, they look at your design and if they are not visually impacted, they exit. If you pass the visual test, the next 3-5 seconds is spent trying to discern what your message is, who your audience is, and if you can help that person. Keep in mind everyone online is searching for a solution to their problem. That&#8217;s how they find you &#8211; by searching for questions in Google or other search engine. So looking at how are you presenting yourself as the solution is critical.</li>
<li><strong>List-building</strong> &#8211; Your following is your #1 online asset. This can include the people who give you their email address and subscribe to your <strong>email list</strong>. It can also include all of your friends and fans on <strong>social media</strong>. <em>It&#8217;s not all about the numbers &#8211; it&#8217;s about the quality of connection.</em> My strategy is to develop a strong connection with as many people as I can. The #1 question I get about social media is what to say: You want to give valuable &#8220;how-to&#8221; information about your topic and also inspire your audience. <em>Make it about THEM, not you.</em> Then you&#8217;ll have a very responsive following who listens to everything you say. This holds true for your email list &#8211; if you send too many emails, with not enough value, they will unsubscribe instantly and not follow you again. So a key strategy for list-building is to put out consistent value to impact your audience.</li>
<li><strong>Social Media Integration</strong> &#8211; If you want to run and grow a successful business online, you MUST be fully integrated with social media. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, YouTube&#8230; THIS is how you reach a global audience most easily. It could take months and months for Google or Bing or Yahoo to pay attention to you and give you high search engine rankings. <li><strong>Product development</strong>- This is an area where clients can easily get overwhelmed. They have a new idea every other week so they get distracted. Or, they start to develop a product and get overwhelmed by how perfect it needs to be, so they never finish anything. However, your audience NEEDS you! Develop the product for them, not you. Solve the problem! I have a very quick exercise I teach my clients that will literally help them simplify the entire concept of product development online and also give them enough of a blueprint to create a product suite and thereby build their online empire. Having an ineffective design will cost you money! It&#8217;s the money you could be making if people signed up for your list, stayed to look through your resources or hired you for your services. <h3>What to Consider for Your <strong>Website Design</strong>:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Make sure you ask your designer for your &#8220;final files&#8221; which will most likely include a Photoshop file with layers, any fonts the designer used, and a copy of the iStock photos they used. If you need to make a change later or hire a new designer (or that designer just isn&#8217;t around in the future) you want to have all copies of your design. It&#8217;s also wise to ask your designer if they will provide these files to you before even starting design work &#8211; if they say no, run!</li>
<li>Do you have a logo that describes your business or has a visual meaning?</li>
<li>Your tagline is important. It should be less than 7 words and should totally describe your business and intention. Having a confusing tagline can be a turn off to new visitors and they may exit your site unless something else grabs their attention</li>
<li>Once your design is built into your website, check to make sure your web programmer checked the site in all browsers for inconsistencies (FireFox, Internet Explorer 7 &amp; 8, Safari, Google Chrome). When a programmer codes the design into the website frame they need to have a knowledge of how these different browsers read code &#8211; they all read HTML and PHP code slightly different. So while your design could look great in FireFox it could look totally screwed up in Safari. Be sure to check this.</li>
<li>Do you make it easy for visitors to find a way to contact you? I mean, in your face easy. If not, change this immediately!</li>
<li>Check to see how you website design looks on a smart phone (Droid, iPhone, Blackberry). It is worth the cost and time to get your phone optimized for mobile web. WordPress makes this easy with the help of a plugin.</li>
<li>Some website have tiny text that&#8217;s hard to read. You also don&#8217;t want your text to be huge and in your visitor&#8217;s face. I suggest 14px for size depending on what font is being used.</li>
<li>Be sure to only use &#8220;web ready&#8221; fonts on your site or fonts that you have the rights to use. Click here to see a list of web ready fonts. If you have a font on your website that is NOT on that list, you may not realize that you are possibly using it illegally. Similar to not wanting to use stock photos you don&#8217;t have the rights to use, you need to have the same consideration for font-use. We can help you understand this process and show your website online safely.</li>
<li>It&#8217;s not recommended to use more than 3 colors, fonts or styles within your website design. We want design to be modern, professional yet soothing to your visitors. If your colors or design jump out at them, they will leave. Even check out how simple Facebook is &#8211; there&#8217;s a reason for that.</li>
<li>Never use large amounts of reverse text (white text on a dark background). Your visitors will be able to read your content for the first minute maybe, but then their eyes will start to feel strain and they will leave your site no matter how great your content is.</li>
<li>How are you using the Upper Right Quadrant (URQ) of your header? This is the most looked at spot on your site for new visitors (just as your About page is the most clicked page in your site). This is a great place to add a phone number, testimonial, search bar, book cover &#8211; what you really want visitors to see.</li>
<li>Does your <a href="http://insightfuldevelopment.com/email-list-building-opt-in-newsletter-signup-box-examples">opt-in newsletter signup box</a> (for email subscribers) stand out, or get lost in the design?</li>
<li>Is your content clear and well-organized or is it a challenge to find answers. Don&#8217;t leave your visitors guessing because I can guarantee instead of waiting to figure it out, most will leave your site and not come back.</li>
</ul>
