Website Design is one of the most essential elements of starting a website. The design of your website will convey a message to new visitors and you have the ability to control what their impression is. Having a web design that sends the wrong message to your audience can have an impact on your bounce rate (the rate at which someone clicks on your site and immediately clicks the back button within 5 seconds). Having an ineffective design will cost you money! It’s the money you could be making if people signed up for your list, stayed to look through your resources or hired you for your services. A website design that lacks proper Internet Marketing planning and strategy is something we see often, unfortunately, but something you can change luckily. When we sit down with a new client we will review their existing design and discuss the holes which lead to visitors exiting the site without taking action. When sitting down with a new client who wants to start a website, we teach them the proven strategies for web design that will get them a higher conversion rate and better long-term results. Below I have listed a few key [...]

If you’ve studied Internet Marketing at all, you’ve heard “build a list, build a list, build a list!” This is sound advice. Building a list of email addresses, people that are interested in following you – this can be your greatest online asset over time. Of course you’ll want to handle your “list” with care. Don’t spam, don’t email every day, etc etc. Follow my logic here for a moment… People are subscribing to lists less and less. Some have asked if that burst of squeeze pages, newsletter signup forms and ethical bribes (like an eBook giveaway) are going away for good even. No, I don’t believe they are. I still sign up for people’s lists all the time. Why not?? You can unsubscribe at any time! If you stumble across a blog or website that provides great content and gets your energized you’re crazy not to opt-in to their list. You’ll get little “reminders” of that excitement plus you’ll stay current in your industry (IMPORTANT!). Ok, so some question if the “opt-in phase” is gone – I say no. But, I do believe it is becoming increasingly harder to make an offer so irresistible that someone would sign up [...]

It’s free. It’s easy. It’s a must. Tynt Insight is a company I found when searching for WordPress plugins. I was specifically searching for a plugin that automatically adds your URL to the copied content a visitor snatches. (No, I’m not an affiliate, just sharing a great tool.) I’m all for someone sharing the goods. Some are not, and for you, there are plugins that don’t allow anyone to copy your content. They do this by disabling your visitor’s ability to right click, among other things. But, I’m all about sharing the wealth so feel free to share my content. You do want to make every effort to protect your own content. You can setup a free account with Tynt in 30 seconds. Then you are taken to a home page that has already generated a line of HTML code for your website. You simply add this code in your footer or index file, just above the tag. From then on, anytime a visitor copies your content, a line that looks like this will be added at the bottom of whatever they copied… content, content, content Read More: http://insightfuldevelopment.com/unique-url-to-page-copied.html#ixzz0w7k47OOR If you’re like me, you’re already smiling at the value.
Creating a Facebook Fan Page is hot, hot, hot. It seems like every day I’m getting requests for liking dozens of new pages that popped up overnight. I wanted to show you a few examples of what you *could* do with your Facebook Fan Page profile picture. I’d say less than 1/4 of the pages have really utilized the 200x600px space they’ve been given. Most have a small logo or medium sized headshot. If this Fan Page is showcasing your business, why not tell people more? See below for a few examples of effective ways the profile picture space was used: You’ll definitely see a wide variety of Facebook Fan Page profile images above and that’s not a bad thing. Your logo Your photo URLs to websites or other social profile pages Let your visitors know how you want them to take action, ie. “Sign up for…”, “Don’t forget to…” A short testimonial that says it all A bullet list of services you provide A catchy headline that explains why you are different and [...]

Today I’d like to share with you a wonderful Internet Marketing resource that I came across the other day. Ian Lurie runs a popular blog called “Conversation Marketing“. Ian says, “After 13 years as an Internet marketer, I’ve pieced together my experiences with the technology, communications and design issues inherent in our business, and built Conversation Marketing as a rubric for good decision making.” Ian’s writing is witty, smart and full of valuable goodies. One great goodie I found was titled, “The On-Page SEO Cheatsheet“. It’s a 2-page visual SEO guide which teaches you the top priority SEO tactics you need to learn to get ranked well in Google, Bing and other top search engines. I printed this guide and when I read the tips I was very impressed with the depth of knowledge Ian was giving away for FREE. Impressive. I signed up for his list so I could get blog posts in my email and I think you should too. First, go download his On-Page SEO Cheatsheet – you don’t even have to give up your email address for it. It’s a great reminder to keep by your computer desk. IM FacePlate is very similar to LinkedIn actually, but has some cool add-ons and an advanced internal marketing area to help you promote your faceplate.
