If you’ve studied Internet Marketing at all, you’ve heard “build a list, build a list, build a list!” This is sound advice. Building a list of email addresses, people that are interested in following you – this can be your greatest online asset over time. Of course you’ll want to handle your “list” with care. Don’t spam, don’t email every day, etc etc. Follow my logic here for a moment… People are subscribing to lists less and less. Some have asked if that burst of squeeze pages, newsletter signup forms and ethical bribes (like an eBook giveaway) are going away for good even. No, I don’t believe they are. I still sign up for people’s lists all the time. Why not?? You can unsubscribe at any time! If you stumble across a blog or website that provides great content and gets your energized you’re crazy not to opt-in to their list. You’ll get little “reminders” of that excitement plus you’ll stay current in your industry (IMPORTANT!). Ok, so some question if the “opt-in phase” is gone – I say no. But, I do believe it is becoming increasingly harder to make an offer so irresistible that someone would sign up [...]

It’s free. It’s easy. It’s a must. Tynt Insight is a company I found when searching for WordPress plugins. I was specifically searching for a plugin that automatically adds your URL to the copied content a visitor snatches. (No, I’m not an affiliate, just sharing a great tool.) I’m all for someone sharing the goods. Some are not, and for you, there are plugins that don’t allow anyone to copy your content. They do this by disabling your visitor’s ability to right click, among other things. But, I’m all about sharing the wealth so feel free to share my content. You do want to make every effort to protect your own content. You can setup a free account with Tynt in 30 seconds. Then you are taken to a home page that has already generated a line of HTML code for your website. You simply add this code in your footer or index file, just above the tag. From then on, anytime a visitor copies your content, a line that looks like this will be added at the bottom of whatever they copied… content, content, content Read More: http://insightfuldevelopment.com/unique-url-to-page-copied.html#ixzz0w7k47OOR If you’re like me, you’re already smiling at the value.
Today I’d like to share with you a wonderful Internet Marketing resource that I came across the other day. Ian Lurie runs a popular blog called “Conversation Marketing“. Ian says, “After 13 years as an Internet marketer, I’ve pieced together my experiences with the technology, communications and design issues inherent in our business, and built Conversation Marketing as a rubric for good decision making.” Ian’s writing is witty, smart and full of valuable goodies. One great goodie I found was titled, “The On-Page SEO Cheatsheet“. It’s a 2-page visual SEO guide which teaches you the top priority SEO tactics you need to learn to get ranked well in Google, Bing and other top search engines. I printed this guide and when I read the tips I was very impressed with the depth of knowledge Ian was giving away for FREE. Impressive. I signed up for his list so I could get blog posts in my email and I think you should too. First, go download his On-Page SEO Cheatsheet – you don’t even have to give up your email address for it. It’s a great reminder to keep by your computer desk.
A backlink is basically a link to your website from another website (an inbound link). Backlinks are key to good Search Engine Optimization (SEO)! The more links you have pointing to your website, it conveys a message to Google and Bing about how important your website is. The more important your website is, the higher you rank in search engines. Another reason backlinks are key is because it opens portals for getting traffic from different avenues. If you have 50 websites linking to yours and they all get decent traffic – imagine how that could boost your visitation! Note: Google ranks a page or post of your website based on over 200 sets of criteria. Backlinks are merely one of them. But, a key one. How to Gets Lots of Backlinks Spoiler alert: There are no quick-to-implement or “overnight success” tips here. If you’re looking to get 1,500 backlinks in a day, go to the other websites that look like scams. Then you’ll find that just like every other idea relating to Internet Marketing… it takes time and consistency to build a large network of backlinks. So, the key is to get your website URL on other websites, right? [...]

This information is brought to you directly out of a quickie eBook created titled, “57 Tips to a Better Blog”. This blogging guide is a really great training piece that can help you uncover the missing pieces to your blogging success. Below you will find 2 tips from each of the 10 categories I give tips and tools for, plus one more at the end. Blog-Site Setup Tips: Do not type your email address into a page and expose it for the world to see. You will increase your spam emails ten-fold. Instead, add in a “Contact form” to your site and link to that page. Choose a domain name with these ideas in mind: Two or three words, anyone can spell it, easy to remember, and relates to the main topic or theme you plan to write about. Design Tips: Avoid using a theme that displays “reverse text” (white text on a dark background). Readers will find this difficult to read after a while and will end up leaving your site. People like image-use but note that you want to only use “royalty [...]

Between yesterday and this morning, I heard 2 great SEO tips that I can’t help but share, plus, I’m going to remind you of another. One Great SEO Tip: This morning, I received my daily ProBlogger email as usual and inside was a blog post called, “Optimize a Single Post On Your Blog for SEO“. The first SEO point of 4 was to find out which of your posts are ranked in Google’s 1st page (2nd-10th position) and then go back and optimize those posts to become #1 on Google. That is a simple but obvious idea that I hadn’t thought of directly before. In your Google Analytics account (shame on you if you don’t have Analytics by now!), you can view your top ranked pages. For example, a blog post of mine is currently #6 for “Building Rapport with Clients” on Google. My SEO goal is to get that blog post #1 for the same keyword phrase. So, I’ll go back to that blog post from months and months ago and find out what I can do to optimize it even more. Can I add more links? Can I adjust my Meta Title, Description and Keywords to match that [...]

This morning I got my usual ProBlogger blog post email. Inside were details about a new WordPress plugin called “Scribe“, a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) evaluator and booster. After doing research and taking the Scribe plugin tour, I bought it and am testing it out as we speak. Here’s how it works… Scribe has a killer special right now to get their highest package for only $27 per month (that’s the same price as their smallest package!). You download the plugin, then upload into your website. The beauty of this package is that you can use this plugin on Unlimited websites…Imagine the possibilities. Then, activate the plugin and start a blog post. You’ll notice a new section in your Add Post page called “Scribe Content Optimizer”.
