My Crazy Pets Make Me Laugh Daily
By: Amber Ludwig, Internet Marketing Coach
I thought I would do a less serious blog post for once and share something with you that makes me laugh every single day.
About 3 years ago, I was on top of the world. I am a big dog person, and that was the time I was able to take Bailey home – a yellow lab from a breeder in Colorado Springs. Bailey (formerly named Moonstar or something) was already almost 6 months old. He had gotten sick as a pup but was completely healthy then, and he and I immediately connected. We shared a lot of laughs as he grew up – when I first brought him home he was TERRIFIED of the stairs … the times when I was in the backyard for 5 hours straight picking up shreds of a pillow he destroyed … ahh … those were the days. The days when he made me mad, but I loved him fully anyway.
No, he’s not like a Marley-dog — he’s actually quite behaved now. (Except for when we go into Petsmart and he becomes a total crazy dog with wild eyes!!)
Then there is Gracie, my cat. In September or so, my cat of 9 years disappeared. A very sad time indeed – I grew up with that cat. After a month of feeling like something was missing – the house was quieter and Bailey was seriously bummed that his pal was gone – I decided to go to the Petsmart adoption center and get a cat. Originally I went there to buy 2 kittens – boy am I glad I didn’t do that! Gracie (formerly named Cabbage – who comes up with these names!!) is MORE than a handful at a year old!
Since then, Gracie and Bailey have become BFFs. I laugh out loud daily at what crazy things they do (mostly together, sometimes individually). So, yes, it is a little odd maybe that I would choose to put this on a blog post but EVERYONE could use a little chuckle amidst these stressful times, right? So check it out…

This is where it all began… I mean when I noticed this was a very silly kitty.
Gracie loved crawling up inside the Christmas tree and finding a spot somewhere in the middle. Then, for hours, she would sit there and look out into the living room or fall asleep. I’m still shaking my head in disbelief!
But then… it got even weirder. I was working away at my computer one day, and happened to look down to my left (Gracie always sleeps in my office while I work).
This silly kitty had one front paw in each of my tennis shoes. She laid there for hours – still one paw in each shoe – just chillin’.
Have you ever seen anything like it??
Now, Bailey is definitely not as “unique” as Gracie, but I can’t help but laugh every single time I give him a bone (which is almost daily – he loves them!).
He will take the bone and rest it between his paws for as long as he can stand it. Then, picks it up and lays it down behind the couch. Then, he starts to rub his back all over it – almost to just tease himself before plowing in and devouring his treat.
BUT, here’s the WEIRDEST part! About two weeks ago, I woke up one morning. Bailey was passed out at the end of the bed with his ear flipped back, snoring away. Gracie came up, and dove into his ear – deep down – and started just going at it! My mouth was just dropped wide open in complete shock as she continued to lick the inside of his ear for like 3-5 minutes straight until Bailey had enough and jumped off the bed.
What the heck is that about?? Yes, she still does it every once in a while.
Bailey could never compete with that degree of strangeness, so here are two more “cute” pictures of Bailey to make it even.

He He… My cat Angel is crazy too! She wakes me up every morning by gently licking my nose, plays with all of my hair ties (I find them in the strangest places sometimes), and loves to dig into the carpet like a dog trying to bury a bone.
Where would we be without them though??
